The following skill level categories govern the access for Junior golfers to the practice facilities and golf courses. Junior golfers are all golfers under the age of 16. All Junior golfers must display a bag tag that indicates the Level achieved. The professional staff and/or the golf committee shall have the authority to suspend the practice and playing rights of any Junior golfer for violation of the golf rules set forth above or intentional destruction of any club property.
Children Under Age 10
Unless a Junior golfer has achieved Level 2 or above, Junior golfers under age 10 must be accompanied by a member, spouse of a member, or golf staff member when on the golf course or in practice areas.
Level 1 (Members’ children, ages 10 - 15)
In order to qualify for Level 1 all juniors must take a private golf lesson with one of the golf professionals at Riverside and pass a written Rules & Etiquette test given during this time. ***Exceptions will be made for those Juniors under the age of 10 who have completed Level I requirements and the professional staff feels are qualified. ***
Level 2 (Members’ children, ages 10 - 15)
In addition to Level I requirements, the following must be achieved: Score 54 or better for 9 holes with an adult from your respective tees or in official tournament play. Boys aged 12 and under and all girls play from red tees. Boys aged 13-15 play from gold tees. An adult must attest the scorecard. Pass a written Rules & Etiquette test given by the professional golf staff. ***Exceptions will be made for those Juniors under the age of 10 who have completed Level II requirements and the professional staff feels are qualified. ***
Level 3
Established USGA handicap of 18 from the white tees (Boys) or red tees (Girls) at Riverside or a minimum age of 16. An adult or a member of the golf staff must attest all scores.

For purposes of this Junior System and the chart above, WITH SUPERVISION is considered playing with or being supervised by a Level 3 Junior or a person having reached their 16th birthday. In order to practice or play at Chanticleer without supervision, Monday, Wednesday-Friday, a Junior must be a Level 2 or Level 3.
All times are subject to change at the discretion of the Golf Staff.
Practice Facility Guidelines for Juniors and Dependents:
- During periods of congestion when stalls are full, dependents of Members (25 and younger) are to be aware of adult members waiting and relinquish their stall on the range, or otherwise will be asked to do so by staff.
- Congregating on the putting greens is not permissible.
- Juniors/dependents must not leave bags in hitting stalls when unattended
- This will allow all members a clear understanding of which stalls are available for use. Unattended bags will be removed by staff.
- Failure to do so will result in an initial verbal warning with additional violations resulting in a letter/email communication sent to the Primary Member.
Proper Attire:
It is the responsibility of the
Primary Member/Spouse to ensure their children follow all GCC guidelines while
on property. Juniors/Dependents will be
given an initial verbal warning for not being in proper attire. Further violations in these guidelines will
result in the junior being asked to leave GCC property and a letter/email
communication will be sent to the Primary Member.
Men/Boys must wear collared or mock-necked shirts, appropriate
slacks (no jeans), or shorts within three inches of the knee. Tank top,
casual t-shirts and football jerseys are prohibited. Shirt tails must be
tucked in at all times. Hats shall be worn front facing at all times. Headwear
must be removed while indoors.
Ladies/Girls must wear attire appropriate for golf. Tank tops,
casual t-shirts and jeans are prohibited. Sleeveless shirts must have a collar,
and collarless shirts must have sleeves.
Behavior:
Juniors/dependents are expected
to show proper etiquette, decorum, and respect at all times while on GCC
property to each other and specifically to adults. This includes but is not limited to: Use of proper language, avoiding running on
practice facilities, responding to instruction/direction from staff, and
behaving in a manner as would be expected to represent our club.
Failure to adhere to the above
will result in an email/letter communication to the Primary Member. Additional penalties will be considered as
appropriate at the discretion of Management, Golf Committee and/or Board of
Governors.
Juniors/dependents are expected to
rake the practice facility bunker following utilization.
Juniors/dependents are expected
to help clean up the chipping area following utilization.
Juniors/dependents are
responsible for cleaning up any trash or water bottles they have used while on
property.
